The program was titled “Community Health, Medicine and Welfare Program―Methods for using Existing Social Resources for Care for Seniors.” Elements of the program included reference to the historical background of the Japanese governmentʼs migration policy from the prewar period to around 1970. Descendants of Japanese emigrants to Brazil currently number around two million. Brazil is aging rapidly, but the social security system and care services for seniors have not kept pace with this demographic change. A report on JICA, 2016 survey noted that seniors of Japanese descendants in Brazil have limited communication ability in Portuguese and that there is a lack of　caregivers for these people.\nAim: To learn about actual conditions for seniors needing care and the care system, and use learning to improve care for seniors in Brazil.\nMethod: A one-month training program(lectures, simulation, observation）\nResult: Trainees learned about implementation of regional comprehensive care such as seamless care from hospital to home, multi-disciplinary linkage, various community programs and so on. In their final reports, they identified applicable ideas and activities.
